Arab African International Bank

Incorporated in 1964 as the first Arab multinational bank in Egypt, Arab African International Bank was established by a Special Law as a joint venture between the Central Bank of Egypt and Kuwait Investment Authority. Cario Amman Bank was established on January 14, 1960 as a Jordanian public shareholding company and began its banking services on July 1, 1960. CAB's first branch was launched in Palestine in 1986. The Commercial International Bank was established in 1975 as a joint venture between the National Bank of Egypt (51%) and the Chase Manhattan Bank (49%) under its original name 'Chase National Bank of Egypt'. Following Chase's decision to divest its equity stake in 1987, National Bank of Egypt increased its shareholding to 99.9%, and the Bank changed its name to Commercial International Bank (Egypt) S.A.E.
